The Shirley Collection

The Higher Heights' SHIRLEY Collection is our homage to the late great Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm, a true maverick who ran for office to become the first Black woman elected to the U.S. Congress, and then went on to become the first woman and first Black candidate to seek a major party's nomination for President of the United States.

The new Netflix film “Shirley” tells the true story of Congresswoman Chisholm’s trailblazing presidential run starring Academy Award-winning actor and director Regina King, who has worked on bringing Congresswoman Chisholm’s story to the screen for nearly 15 years.
